Happy First Birthday sweet girl!!
My dear karis-girl,
So much has happened this past year. You are so resilient and strong. You are the baby girl I always dreamed of. And I thank God so much for you!

You went in your first airplane ride when you were exactly a month old and we went on vacation to San Francisco. We moved back to Pasadena from San Diego when you were five months old. You went to Las Vegas and Disneyland twice. We spent lots of time with nanay and papa too. Mommy breast fed you until you were 11 months old and it took about two weeks before you really started drinking milk from a sippy cup. You are such a good eater. You love food. Your first tooth didn't come out until a day after your birthday! You had the most precious gummy smile. Nanay would always say, "it doesn't matter that you don't have teeth, you are still pretty!" Everyone says how much you look like her. That really makes me so happy. Your first word was mama and your favorite word is bubba. You love to dance and smile. You just started clapping and you always wave hi and bye. You have a favorite blanket and you like to bite it and cover your face with it when you go to sleep. You absolutely LOVE your brother and you always crawl to his room every chance you get. You dive into his bed and play with all his cars and trucks. You even make car sounds when you play with them. Nanay says that you are a strong girl and that I don't have to worry about you because you are a fighter. Nanay said the same thing to me and I remember how much that strengthened me during hard times.

I hope you know how much I love you. God blessed me so much when he allowed me to be your mommy. You have brought me so much joy this year of your life. You brought me so much happiness even during the hardest moments of my life. I know that God gave you to me so that I would have you even when nanay is in heaven. My prayer is that I would be able to love you and nurture you and guide you like nanay did to me. Nanay is my role model of what a mommy looks like and I pray that one day we can have a relationship as special as mine is with nanay.

Karis girl your smile and your laugh is so contagious. It brightens every room you crawl into. You bring so much joy to everyone you are around. Your crazy little laugh is so cute. Daddy and I can't get enough of it. I pray that your life would be full if joy, even when times are hard and so heavy, I pray that you would hold on to God and cling to Him through all circumstances.

Karis I love you with all of my heart. I hope you always know that. There is nothing you could ever do to make me stop loving you. I am praying that you would come to know Jesus at an early age and I am also praying for your future husband. You are so beautiful, you are so precious to me, and I will love you always and always. Happy birthday my precious baby girl.
